Types of 3D Generation
Vizcom enables you to generate 3d models of your renderings at a variety of qualities. For more information about how to use the 2D to 3D feature, refer here.
Standard
Standard 3D generation is optimized for speed. The output is lower resolution than the detailed options, but allows you to quickly visualize your sketches in 3D and see your ideas from different perspective.
Detailed Smooth
As the name implies, generated meshes from Detailed Smooth are smoother and cleaner, with an emphasis on clean topology over capturing every detail of the sketch. This mode excels when you are looking for a mesh to directly edit in your chosen 3D program
Detailed Sharp
This mode emphasizes the intricate details of the input sketch in both the 3D mesh and in texturing. This model is ideal for seeing how a detail
Multiview to 3D
Use multiple sketch layers of the same object from different perspectives to have more control over the final 3D output
Multiview Generation
Select 2-5 visible layers and the "Generate Multiview 3D" option will be enabled in the toolbar. The generated model will be added to your layers.
Generating Multiview from Group
You can also generate multiview 3D from a layer group. Just make sure the group is visible and contains 2-5 visible layers since hidden layers won’t be considered.
Tips
For more precision, imagine your object as cube and provide sketches which accurately and consistently describe all 6 sides of the cube viewed from different angles.
For more variation, you can use sketches which have variations on the same theme. The 3D generation tool will choose which features to keep. You can generate again to get a different combinations of the design features you have inputted.
You can also use 3D models as part of your input to 3D generation. This can be used when you want to keep one view of an object the same while varying another part
